The most common question I get about intuition is, “How can I tell the difference between my intuition and wishful thinking?”
It’s a great question and to try to answer it, I’ve put together a series of intuitive tips about what I like to call the 4 “Clairs” – clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience and claircognizance. These are the building blocks of identifying and developing your intuition.
The first clair I want to tell you about is clairvoyance.
Clairvoyance literally means clear seeing and it is not limited to full blown visions, like in Medium. If your intuition uses this clair to speak to you, you might see visions that are symbolic or literal. You might have images or words pop in your mind or see sparkles and movements out of the corner of your eye. You might sometimes see auras or a glow around people.
Perhaps you see pictures in your mind’s eye like a photograph or a movie. Possibly you have dreams that are vivid and give you guidance. Do images ever flash across your mental screen?
If your nodding your head to any of these, then you might want to try these fun exercises to strengthen your Clairvoyant skills:
1. Pick up a magazine, close your eyes and ask to get a picture of what is on the inside cover. Take a moment and allow yourself to “see” the answer.
2. Turn on the TV to a show you don’t usually watch. Then turn away from the screen and try to “see” what a person looks like or what they are wearing.
3. Practice seeing auras by having a friend stand against a white wall or background. Relax your gaze and concentrate on an area about 2 inches above their head and shoulders. Look for any instances of a soft white glow.
Remember to have fun and stayed tuned for insights into the next clair!
