Last week, I took a class that reminded me about magic, not the stage magic of magicians but the inherent magic in every one of us. This is the magic you recognized within you as a child, only then you called it imagination. You could go anywhere and be anything you desired; there were no limits to this skill.

As we age, experience and reality wear us down. We no longer indulge in magic, in fact, we now call it flights of fancy, fantasy, unreality or fabrication. Even our language denies our childhood understanding.

The support for this among adults is everywhere- one look at our political landscape will convince you of the hopelessness of this belief.

Where is this magic now? It is inside you, always there and waiting. Think of any experience you’ve had that brought forth a sense of joy, awe or wonder. It could have been the birth of a child, the beauty of nature or witnessing a compassionate moment between others.

These examples are how you remember your magic. You can access it without the stimulus. Your magic is your true vibration at your core. It is your birthright, your natural energy signature. You don’t have to do or be anything to connect to it. You must remove all the experiences that have buried it.

Remembering you are first and foremost a spiritual being having a human experience is magic. It is allowing your energy to be positive, loving and joyful. You get to decide what you focus on. Don’t allow yourself to feel limited by the options the world shows you.

It reminds me of the song “Magic”:

You have to believe we are magic
Nothing can stand in our way
You have to believe we are magic
Don’t let your aim ever stray

With all the negativity in our world, why not be a radical and concentrate on magic and possibilities? I know you will feel happier and the world will be a better place for it.
